We recognize that PCs and the connection to the Internet are very important to our students, for both educational and personal reasons. We are committed to providing the best support possible to our users. Our Help Desk Services attempt to resolve any issues that may arise, but we can provide only limited support for equipment other than the makes/models that we sell.  The following is a list of services that we do provide as well as a list of services that we cannot provide.

The following items and services are provided for all students:

  • Network connectivity
  • Email
  • Cisco Clean Access (applies to residents only)
  • Windows Updates
  • McAfee VirusScan software (provided by LaSalle University)
  • Virus removal
  • Spyware and Adware removal
  • Operating System reinstalls and  hardware repairs on computers sold by La Salle University
  • Problem evaluation and repair advice (all models)

The following cannot be provided:

  • Hardware repairs for non-LaSalle University sold computers.
  • Linux support, other than limited advice
  • Support for Apple Operating Systems, other than limited advice
  • Peer-to-peer file sharing software support

Use of illegal file sharing software by members of our community violates our Acceptable Use Policies. It is important to note that La Salle must comply with all subpoenas by providing the identities of students who are illegally sharing music, movies, software, and other copyrighted materials via the Internet.

That being said, we will do our best to resolve any computer issues you may have.  There are several ways to contact us for help:

  • Students can bring their computer to the walk-in Help Desk in St. Katherine’s (preferred method for laptops).
  • Students can call (215)–951–1788 and discuss any PC issues, or make an appointment for a ResNet Technician to make a room visit.
  • Students can visit the Kiosk in the Student Union (limited hours) and have their technical questions answered and have their laptop diagnosed for problems.
