Have a few questions you need help with? Really struggling in a class and need to turn it around? Got a 99 and want to know why you didn’t get a 100?
Well then, Subject Tutoring is for you!
Who can get Subject Tutoring?
Subject Tutoring is available for over 70 undergraduate classes throughout La Salle.
If you are unable to find a tutor for a particular course, email tutoringsupport@lasalle.edu and the Center will attempt to find a tutor for that course.
How can I schedule a Subject Tutoring appointment?
Appointments are scheduled through Starfish on the mylasalle Portal. Click here for step by step instructions on how to schedule an appointment.
Appointments, by default, are 30 minutes long. If you wish to have an hour long session, please adjust the session duration to 60 minutes (if available).
What happens during a Subject Tutoring?
Subject Tutoring is a highly personalized service for which the student and tutor create an individualized plan for each session. It is important to bring all materials relevant to the session and know what you are and are not struggling with.
Once at the session, the student and tutor will create a plan of action for what can realistically be achieved during the session. Sessions are ideally highly collaborative with frequent discussion and have you, the students, doing a lot of the work.
At the conclusion of each session, the student and tutor will review what was accomplished, discuss what the next steps are, and schedule a tutoring appointment should one be needed.
