Schedule Tutoring and other Support Services
A benefit of studying at La Salle is access to a wide array of academic support services such as Academic Coaching and Tutoring. Research shows that successful students use tutoring services to maintain and/or improve grades. We provide subject tutoring in over 50 courses and writing tutoring for courses across the curriculum. Tutoring is provided primarily by appointment and is easy for you to schedule using Starfish. You should make appointments early and often, being sure to cancel appointments at least three hours prior to a session if you cannot make it to allow tutors to help others. Click here for step-by-step instructions. (Note that you will be prompted to log into the Portal to view them.)
Early Alert System
Starfish is also a communication tool that assists faculty in alerting students who are exhibiting at risk behaviors. When an early alert report is submitted, the student, his or her advisor(s), and the Academic Support team are informed. The goal of Starfish is to provide you with a coordinated care network as well as access to the tools available to help you improve your academic performance. If you are a student and receive an email from your professor expressing concern about your attendance or performance, connect with him or her and your academic advisor immediately to discuss what action steps you need to take to improve.
