Barbara C. Allen, Ph.D. is a historian of Russia and the Soviet Union, specializing in the history of the Russian revolutionary movement and the early Soviet state. Her research interests include the history of working-class opposition to the Soviet Communist Party’s dictatorship. She has conducted archival research in Russia, Ukraine, and the United States and has presented at conferences in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Russia, Canada, and the U.S. Her research and conference travel have been supported by numerous grants and fellowships, including a Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad grant.
