Full-time freshmen with extensive community service backgrounds who commit to service while at La Salle are eligible for the Maguire Service Scholarship, which provides up to $5,000 annually. The scholarship reflects La Salle’s longstanding devotion to serving the community. Priority will be given to graduates of 37 Philadelphia-area high schools who apply for “last dollar” scholarships from the Maguire Foundation to attend La Salle University for four years.

To get their award renewed each semester, recipients of the Maguire Service Scholarship must:
Minimum GPA of 3.0 in HS
Maintain a cumulative La Salle GPA of 3.0
Demonstrate financial need through FAFSA
Attend a retreat early in fall semester
Participate in twice-monthly meetings of Maguire Community Service Scholarship recipients
Actively contribute to community building among Maguire Community Service Scholarship recipients
Participate in two consistent service activities weekly
Progressive leadership within service organizations
Meet individually with the program coordinator every month and submit a reflection journal
