• Served as La Salle’s first Vice President for Academic Affairs (1960 -1969).
• Established La Salle’s Honors Program and also the Concert and Lecture Series (1960s).
• Began Faculty Workshops which engendered the Faculty Senate.
• Became President of La Salle College (1969-1976).
• Facilitated the efforts to make La Salle co-educational (1970).
• Founder and Director of La Salle’s Art Museum, starting with only $3,000 (opened 1976).
• Wrote poetry and edited books of poetry.
• Surprised colleagues in 1971 by joining other religious leaders (various faiths) in a Holy Week prayer and fasting vigil, to focus on the Vietnam War, racial tensions, and rising U.S. poverty. (Lived on water and juices for 7 days while standing in front of the White House.)
