How to Participate in the On-Campus Recruiting Program
The OCR program is open to all current students. The application, selection, and interview sign-up process is managed through our Handshake system. You will need to have your resume approved in Handshake to participate in OCR. Learn how to find and apply to OCR positions in Handshake.
By participating in the OCR Program and submitting your resume to positions posted by employers, you are making the commitment that you are seriously interested in those employers and opportunities. You are expected to sign up for and attend the interview.
A special feature of our On-Campus Recruiting program allows you to meet individually with a career counselor to find out how you did in your interviews. Interview Feedback is offered by appointment only.
A missed interview constitutes a serious problem… for the employer, for you, and for our office. La Salle’s policy for missed interviews has been developed to take into account students’ demanding schedules while maintaining a positive relationship with recruiting employers who are spending valuable time visiting campus for your interviews. Ask our recruiting manager or any counselor if you’re unclear on either of these policies as you will be held accountable for missed interviews.
If you submit your resume to an employer participating in our OCR program and are selected for an on-campus interview, you are expected to sign-up for that interview (Check Handshake for upcoming recruiting dates). It is your responsibility to be aware of the interview sign-up deadline for each employer. A student who does not contact the Career Center to decline an interview or does not sign up for an interview will be considered a “No- Show.” Alternate candidates will be offered your interview.
Once you have scheduled an on-campus interview, cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to that interview. If you are unable to make a scheduled interview, you must contact the Career Center to cancel. You will be limited to 3 cancellations per semester.
Call 215-951-1075 for any interview cancellation.
If you fail to show up for a scheduled interview, you will be considered a “No Show” and you must send a letter of apology to the interviewer. You must also provide a copy of this letter to the Employer Relations Associate in the Career Center. We encourage you to have your letter reviewed by the Career Center before sending it to the interviewer.
A second “no show” disqualifies you from participating in any further on campus interviews for the remainder of the academic year. All other scheduled interviews will be cancelled and your resume will not be sent to any additional on-campus recruiting employers.
