Lynne Texter, Ph.D.

Professor Emerita
Communication, Strategic Communication
Location:
Communication Center 223

Always wanting to do at least one big, challenging thing each year, Lynne Texter hopped on her bike one summer and completed a 50-day bicycle journey across the U.S. from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean. That’s 3,767 miles, 10 states, two countries, and some really big hills along the way. Another year, Lynne walked 115 miles on a pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago in Spain.

When not out on her bike, Lynne fulfills an administrative role and teaches Persuasion, Public Relations, Leadership, and Effective Presentations. She’s passionate about helping students understand how most effectively to communicate their ideas and opinions to achieve their personal and professional goals.

A winner of the Lindback Foundation Award for Distinguished Teaching in addition to several other teaching awards, Lynne is a native of Rochester, N.Y. Over the past several years, she’s held a number of administrative roles at La Salle, including Interim Provost & Vice President of Academic Affairs, Interim Dean of the School of Arts & Sciences, and Chair of the Department of Communication. She consults with a variety of corporations and nonprofit organizations, and she has also taught courses, given lectures, and participated in a number of conferences across the U.S. as well as in France, the Czech Republic, Greece, and Switzerland.
