Want to be eligible for a $10,000 research grant to partner with a community-based organization? Interested in learning more about collaborations between academics and community-based organizations?
La Salle University’s Nonprofit Center will allocate a $10,000 research grant to a La Salle faculty member and/or student researcher(s) to work in partnership with a community-based organization(s) through the Community-Driven Research Day (CDRD) matching program.
For the first time, La Salle is a co-sponsor of the 2024 CDRD, which is a collaboration among six area institutions to connect researchers with community-based organizations for supported community-driven research projects, specifically in ways that address social determinants of health. This series of events and the research award are part of La Salle’s commitment to effective community-university partnerships that help solve community-identified needs.
Feb. 9: Attend the CDRD at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP Roberts Center, 2716 South St., Philadelphia, Pa. 19146) on Feb. 9 to meet community-based organizations interested in research partnerships.
April: Find your match at CDRD and collaborate with a community-based organization to submit a grant proposal due in April 2024.
Faculty: This is a great opportunity to receive funding for your research while supporting the research interests of a Philadelphia community-based organization!
Students: Talk to your advisors and faculty about this. There may be an opportunity to receive course credit for an independent research project.
