Location: Philadelphia, PA Major: MBA, ‘09 Role: Director of Operations, Wilmington Learning Collaborative
What activities were you involved with as a student? I was one of the founding members of the La Salle Association of Women MBAs and its two time President.
How have you remained active or engaged with the University as an alumna since graduation? I have been an active board member, serving as a member of several committees. I have served on the Hall of Fame Committee, Scholarship Committee and served as the two time co-lead for the Women In Leadership Scholarship/Luncheon committee.
Why do you want to run for the Alumni Board of Directors? I remain committed to my original charge which is to be an ambassador of diversity and equity for members of under-resourced Black and Brown citizens of Philadelphia. I continue to champion the benefits of a La Salle education through my former work with Heights Philadelphia. I personally oversaw an increase of student applications, interest and acceptance into a La Salle undergraduate education. I also worked to increase students’ access to the LEAP Dual Enrollment program. Finally, I remain a champion of the value of a La Salle education by being an ambassador and spokesperson when an opportunity avails itself.
Is there any other information you would like to share? The network of friends that I made at La Salle are invaluable. I want other students who come from the same communities as I do to have access to the vast and committed community that La Salle has to offer. I will continue to use my seat on the Alumni Board to ensure that La Salle is a safe and diverse space for students who are educated in the Philadelphia Public School System.
