Location: Marlton, NJ Major: History Role: Practice Group Chair, Malamut Law
What activities were you involved with as a student? During my time at La Salle I was involved in the Collegian, first as a writer and eventually as an editor, I had my own radio show on campus radio, I was on the Cross Country and Track and Field teams for two years, I was a student in the honors program, and I was a member of the Pre-Law program. Outside of school sponsored programs, I also held multiple internships and jobs in Philadelphia politics during my time at La Salle.
How have you remained active or engaged with the University as an alumna since graduation? Since graduation, I have continued to return to campus to attend University events.
Why do you want to run for the Alumni Board of Directors? La Salle profoundly shaped my entire life. It is where I decided to go to law school, where I met my wife, and where I learned lessons that continue to influence my world view. I want to give back to the University that gave me so much. As one of numerous alums living in Southern New Jersey, I want to help organize and engage our alumni base on this side of the Delaware to help keep alumni outside of the city of Philadelphia involved in the University and alumni association.
Is there any other information you would like to share? I believe I bring a unique combination of skills and experience that will make me an effective member of the alumni board. As an attorney who runs the employment litigation department at a mid-size law firm, I am trained in thinking critically and strategically to solve problems and implement new initiatives on an organization wide basis. In addition, during and after my time at La Salle I spent years working in grassroots political organizing an advocacy. In that role, I gained experience varying from running volunteer programs with hundreds of members, to taking a direct role in multiple seven figure fundraising operations. I look forward to using this organizing and fundraising experience to help grow the impact of the Alumni board.
