10:15–11:30 a.m. | ALEKS Math Placement Assessment Holroyd Hall All incoming first-year students will take a math placement assessment called ALEKS during Ready, Set, Explore to determine which math course each student should take. The Placement Assessment is up to 30 questions and generally takes 60-90 minutes to complete. After the Placement Assessment, an individualized Prep and Learning Module is available for students to refresh their knowledge on forgotten topics. Students then have the opportunity to reassess and improve their placement. |

12:05–12:30 p.m. | Academic Connecting Conversation Holroyd Hall Faculty and Staff Academic Advisors During this personalized conversation with a faculty or staff member, students will confirm their major, review their fall semester schedule, learn about the advising process and the adviser’s role in college, and identify next steps for connecting with resources or making changes to their schedule. Students will be able to ask questions about their major, schedule, and courses. |
