Established in spring 2019, the Career Closet at La Salle University, located within Founders’ Hall, serves as a vital resource for student professional development. Managed by the Career Center, this initiative empowers students to confidently navigate the professional world.
Accessible from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, year-round, the Career Closet ensures students have the attire they need for interviews, presentations, and internships. Our commitment to student success extends beyond attire; we offer guidance and support throughout their journey. Over the years, we have seen a steady growth in student visits, reflecting the increasing demand for professional wear among our students. On average, we serve around 100 students per academic year. We anticipate this trend to continue as the need for professional attire becomes more critical than ever before.
At the heart of the Career Center’s mission is the goal to produce confident, competent, and career-ready alumni. Throughout the 2023-2024 academic year, the Career Closet welcomed 190 student visits. The Career Closet initiative plays a pivotal role in achieving this mission by addressing our students’ physiological needs and providing tangible support in their journey towards success.
Furthermore, the Career Closet is an integral part of Prepare for the Fair activities, helping students prepare for the Fall and Spring Job and Internship Fairs at one of our Pop-Up shop events. Our Career Closet interns, through their inventory system and student check-in process, ensure we meet students’ needs effectively.
Although, all donations are accepted, we have a partnership with local thrift stores to donate any items that would not be considered “professional,’ to ensure that all items can benefit the lives of others.
