Passing The Torch: Olympics at La Salle

The 2024 Summer Olympic Games will be held in Paris, France. During the La Salle Summer STEAM Enrichment Camp students will experience the Olympics right here on campus. Through exploration of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics students will learn about the history, culture, geography, language, and sports associated with the Summer Olympic games.

The La Salle STEAM Summer Enrichment Camp offers all students entering 1st – 9th grade (as of September 2024) inclusive, engaging, and integrated learning experiences across all subject areas. grades 1 through 9 (as of September 2023) inclusive, engaging, and integrated learning experiences across all subject areas including math, science, technology, media, foreign languages, engineering, language arts, and social studies. Students will actively learn about themselves, their neighbors, their communities, and their world during the three-week experience. Supervised by university faculty, our teachers are prepared to differentiate instruction to maximize each child’s learning and success, motivating students to want to learn through hands-on, indoor, and outdoor activities using evidence-based practices. Students will have opportunities to play games, explore, create and make art, learn new sports, and practice personal wellness techniques as a part of their camp experience.

Highlights

  • All CDC Guidelines and mitigation efforts will be followed to ensure the safety of all participants in the camp.
  • All students entering 1st – 9th grade as of September 2024 are welcome to register for La Salle’s Summer STEAM Enrichment Camp, regardless of ability level or experience.
  • Teachers are prepared to differentiate instruction to maximize each child’s learning and success, motivating students to want to learn through interactive experiences. These enrichment experiences are curated to engage students at their grade level using evidence-based practices.
  • Campers will identify problems, brainstorm solutions, conduct experiments, create and innovate, practice personal wellness, tell stories, make art, meet special guests, and much more!
  • The summer camp is fully staffed. La Salle faculty are on-hand daily to support student learning.
  • Writers Matter is a co-sponsor of La Salle’s Summer STEAM Enrichment Camp and will provide campers with opportunities to learn critical writing skills. Campers will craft personal narratives having their voices heard as well listen to other campers’ voices fostering more tolerance and appreciation of others.
