Alumni who seek services that have graduated within the past year may schedule an in-person or phone advising appointment through Handshake. Whether you are a young alumnus/a or an experienced professional, your first step is to determine your target and then develop your marketing materials and job search strategy.

Career Change Advisement
Deciding to change careers can be scary, exciting, overwhelming and freeing – all at the same time. Step back and do some self-assessing, clarify what’s important to you at this stage in your life, brainstorm options, research the ones that interest you the most, develop short and/or long-term goals and plan to get there, and put your plan into action.
Networking Resources
There are many opportunities to build your network including through La Salle Alumni Association Events and Volunteer Opportunities.
LinkedIn is also a tremendous professional networking tool. Learn strategies, tips and techniques to harness the power of LinkedIn to enhance your job search, build your professional brand, and/or fuel business development in the 2019 three-part webinar series: Owning Your Career: The LinkedIn Series.
Candidates for Your Organization
Depending upon your organization’s specific needs, the University Career Center is ready to assist you as you develop recruitment strategies, plan your hiring cycles, or search for candidates to fill immediate openings. The Career Center offers a variety of ways to help identify qualified candidates (student workers, interns & co-ops, graduating seniors, and recent graduates) in an easy, affordable manner. Alumni Career Volunteers
Alumni career volunteers help fellow Explorers develop their careers through events and programs such as mock interviews, resume reviews, job shadows, mentoring, and career discussions.

Explorer Shadow Program
You can help students clarify their career goals by hosting students in your workplace for a day to observe, participate and learn about your industry, role and organization. Being a host presents the opportunity to mentor the next generation of professionals while also expanding your organization’s brand awareness.
The Explorer Shadow Program is a one-day shadow experience that allows La Salle students to “shadow”, or observe, a professional to get a behind-the-scenes look at a specific job or company. Job shadows will take place December 4, 2023 – January 31, 2024 AND March 11, 2024 – May 31, 2024.
Donate to the Career Closet
Over 100 students have visited the Career Closet this year, and, as word spreads, the demand is growing. The Career Closet provides free professional clothing for all current students, who may need attire for an upcoming professional event or interview.
Donate gently used items such as shirts, ties, suits, blazers, shoes, and more. You can drop them off or mail them to: La Salle University Career Center, Founders’ Hall, Room 128, 1900 W. Olney Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19141.
Alumni Association
La Salle University’s Alumni Association connects alumni and students with La Salle University and one another in frequent and meaningful ways and provides leadership and resources focused on perpetuating La Salle as a vibrant, quality academic Lasallian Catholic institution.
