All La Salle Students Seeking a Degree or Certificate Qualify for Financial Aid
The federal government, which supplies most of the money for financial aid, has rules about who can receive it. If you pursue a degree or certificate at La Salle University, you’re certain to qualify for at least some type of aid.
Among the rules, the most important require that you:
Be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen
Have a Social Security Number
Demonstrate financial need through your Free Application for Federal Student Aid to receive most types of aid
Have a high school diploma, an equivalent such as a GED certificate, or a completed homeschool education approved under state law
Be enrolled in an eligible La Salle degree or certificate program
Be enrolled for at least six credits to receive a federal Direct Loan
A warning: Dropping classes may affect your current and future financial aid eligibility. Talk with your financial counselor about your options before dropping a class.
Students who are homeless are eligible for federal financial aid. Students who are undocumented aren’t eligible, but they may qualify for private scholarships, state grants, or college financial aid.
