Cathleen Parsons-Nikolić joined La Salle as Vice President for University Advancement in July. She brings extensive experience to this role, with a portfolio that includes alumni relations, development, marketing and communications, and government and community relations. Formerly, she served as Associate Vice President of Villanova University’s Office of University Advancement, as a key senior staff member for their office of more than 90 advancement professionals. Prior to joining Villanova, Parsons-Nikolić spent seven years at Temple University’s Office of Institutional Advancement.
Earlier in her career, she conducted development research at the University of Pennsylvania and at the University of Buffalo, and also worked in Serbia as a program research assistant at OXFAM–UK and Ireland.
Brother Ernest J. Miller, F.S.C., D.Min., M.A. ’95, was named as the University’s new Vice President for Mission this August. A native of New Orleans, Br. Ernest has been a Brother of the Christian Schools for more than 20 years and completed his doctoral degree at the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago this May. Prior to his study in Chicago, he served five years in provincial administration for five years—two years as Director of Education and Lasallian Mission Formation in the former District of Baltimore and three years as the Associate Director for Mission and Ministry in the District of Eastern North America.
Prior to his service in provincial leadership, Br. Ernest served on the faculty of Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, La Salle College High School in Wyndmoor, and West Philadelphia Catholic High School.
His predecessor, Maggie McGuinness, Ph.D., who served as VP of Mission since 2012, will now return to teaching in La Salle’s Department of Religion.
Kevin Dolan, Esq., was appointed to the newly created role of Chief of Staff to the President and Director of Legal Affairs in July. In this position, he will provide coordination and oversight in the development of core initiatives for the Office of the President, act as strategic liaison with the University and community constituencies, and serve as the point person for all University legal issues.
Dolan most recently served as a partner with the national law firm Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith, where he was a member of the firm’s Data Privacy and Network Security Group and focused his practice on assisting clients affiliated with universities and higher education.
Brian A. Goldstein, Ph.D., officially began his term as La Salle’s Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs in June. His leadership in this position will allow the University to continue to deliver high-quality academic programs, recruit and retain excellent faculty, and maintain an emphasis on the student experience. Goldstein joined La Salle in 2012 as the Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences and Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders.
Kathleen E. Czekanski, Ph.D., R.N., CNE, will now serve as Acting Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences.
