When La Salle’s bankers were whispering foreclosure during tough economic times, he had the nerve to suggest that the bankers GIVE the property to the College outright—and they did!
Possessed unshakeable trust in God’s Providence that prayers to the Sacred Heart of Jesus—and prudent fiscal responsibility—would steer La Salle College through the Great Depression.
Introduced Varsity Football (1931) to the campus and built McCarthy Stadium (1936)
