If you have sharp eyes, you might detect the name of “Brother Joe” and “U.S. Army” on the uniform of the man at left. Contradiction in terms? To some, yes……but to Lasallians, never! He is Brother Joseph Willard, the longtime Advisor for the U.S. Army ROTC program for La Salle University. He is pictured with Jakob Kenny, currently a Senior at La Salle. Cadet Kenny is the Cadet Battalion Commander for the ROTC’s “Task Force Dragon,” in which all University Cadets are enrolled. This photo dates from January or February 2023, and the setting is at a “field lab,” located near Centennial Lake, which is part of Fairmount Park in West Philadelphia. The ROTC’s field labs take place on Thursday mornings, usually between 05:30 and 11:00 hours.
