The La Salle women’s field hockey program finished the 2024 season with a 9-10 overall record. A season full of difficulties, lots of new faces, and a new coaching staff made it one to remember. The Explorers had a handful of standout players throughout the season worth mentioning. Sofia Pla, ’25, a senior defender from Buenos Aires, Argentina, has been a member of the La Salle field hockey program for all four years of her collegiate career. In her senior year, she finished with a team-leading four goals and 12 points, which was good enough for her to be named on the Atlantic 10 Conference’s All-Conference First Team. The defender is also a standout in the classroom as she was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team.
Abby Boggs, ’27
New to the team this season, freshman forward Roos Pasveer, ’28, hails from Leeuwarden, Netherlands, and made a huge impact on the season in her first year with the team. Pasveer finished the season with three goals and eight points. Her outstanding freshman season landed her on the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Rookie Team.
In her second year as an Explorer, Abby Boggs, ’27, became a mainstay in between the pipes for La Salle. Boggs made 18 of 19 starts in her sophomore season, making her one of the most reliable goalies in the Conference. She finished the year in the top-five of multiple categories within the A-10 Conference: fourth in goals against average (1.607), second in save percentage (.759), fifth in shutouts (2), and third in saves per game (5.61). All said and done, Boggs was named to the A-10 All-Second Team.
