Between 1974 and 2000 Mr. Staffieri practiced law as a trial lawyer, mostly in the fields of civil rights, labor law and contract law. In 2000 Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) appointed him General Counsel. As General Counsel he served as the chief legal officer of SEPTA, a state agency. He served in that position until 2011. Since leaving SEPTA he has been engaged in private legal practice.

Mr. Staffieri has tried cases in Pennsylvania state courts and United States District Courts. He has argued appeals in the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania and the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.

He began teaching at La Salle University in Fall 2015 and serves as pre-law advisor and advisor to the Mock Trial Association.
