Ling Liang, Ph.D.

Associate Professor
Education
Location:
Olney Hall 268

I joined La Salle in 2001 and have been teaching courses related to cognitive development and science and mathematics education at undergraduate/graduate levels. Prior to this, I served as a visiting assistant professor and the director of the Science Teaching Center at Widener University in Pennsylvania. I also taught physics in a high school for five years and received the first-class teaching award there. I am always interested in explorations of effective science learning, instruction, and assessment, and the integration of research findings into my own teaching practice.

In addition to my work within the La Salle community, I have served on committees in national and international science education organizations. As an appointed guest research professor at the Nanjing Normal University in China, I have also established on-going collaborations with Chinese science educators. My recent publications can be found in science education research journals such as Science Education, the International Journal of Science Education, the Journal of Science Education and Technology, and the Journal of Elementary Science Education.
