The insurance industry is always looking for young talent, and La Salle’s Risk Management and Insurance program provides its students with exposure to the discipline as well as the skills and knowledge they need to pursue careers in the field.
Students enhance what they learn in the classroom by making connections with professionals in risk management and insurance at networking events, conferences, and meetings of professional organizations around the Philadelphia region and beyond.
La Salle’s chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma, an international collegiate fraternity for risk management and insurance students, also provides numerous academic and professional opportunities. The leadership and professional development gained and the professional contacts made through these experiences position La Salle’s students well for scholarships, internships, and full-time jobs.
For students who may be interested in pursuing the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation, La Salle also offers two courses that have been approved by the CPCU Society for its Collegiate Studies for CPCU Program. Any student who earns a grade of B or better will earn a waiver for up to two of the eight exams required for the CPCU designation.
